There’s a new vibrant voice waiting in the wings to make history when she performs on stage with her mother for the first time ever. The audience held its breath when she took the mic, and then let out a collective sigh of relief when they realized they would not be disappointed. This sista can sing! Bitten by the music bug after singing in a talent show as a teenager, Indira went on to perform with Motown Records’ girl group, Pretty in Pink. However reemerging now a woman, her music has evolved as well and reflects the fullness of her life experiences. Currently in the studio with Stomping Grounds Entertainment working on her own debut album, Indira draws her musical inspiration from an eclectic list of artists ranging from Joni Mitchell to Aretha Franklin to Prince. Though she considers her music mainly R&B, don’t be surprised to hear some funk, rock and jazzy spicing up the tracks in her forthcoming release. Indira shies away from comparison to her Grammy winning mom. Pulling out all the stops when it comes to her own unique style, she expresses her individual diva-tude with humility, grace and power!
